Obituary For Martin Chase

Marty Chase passed away peacefully, with family by his side, on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at the age of 56 years.

Marty was born in Kelowna, BC on March 25, 1959. He moved to Alberta in 1981 to pursue a career in the oilfield and was a hot oiler operator for about 35 years. Marty was very well respected for his work and passed on his expertise to those who were fortunate enough to work with him. He had a passion for music, old cars, travelling, and nature. Marty also had a great sense of humor and always put family first. He was a kind, good-natured man who touched the lives of many people.

Our hearts are broken. Marty will be sadly missed by his wife of 37 years Sheryle, daughter Ashley, and son Ryan. He is survived by his mother Laura, sister Marie (Jim), brothers: Les (Val), Ray (Shirley), and Eldon.

Marty was predeceased by his father Forest, brother Harold, and sister Velma.

A special thanks to Dr. Mequanent, Dr. Barreth, the staff on 5 North and the staff at Points West Hospice for their outstanding care and support.

Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held in Christina Lake, BC at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Grande Prairie Hospice Palliative Care Society (Box 21215, Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 6W7).
