Obituary For Martin Rasmussen

Martin Rasmussen, resident of Clairmont, AB, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2020, at the QEII Hospital in Grande Prairie, AB at the age of 65 years.

Martin was born on March 28, 1955 in Beaverlodge, AB. His parents Svend and Marie moved the family to Fort Vermillion, AB until Martin was in high school at which time, they moved to Grande Prairie, AB.

Martin finished school and got a job at the Co-op as a bag boy. He then got a job at Proctor & Gamble and then decided on a career in trucking. Martin then purchased his own truck and started his trucking career in Swan Hills. He got an opportunity to work for Trimac Transportation where he finished his working career 42 years later.

In his younger years, Martin enjoyed the stock car race track, the rodeo, camping, quading and spending time with his family.

Martin will be sadly missed by his wife Sheena of 32 years; his son Jason (Crystal) of Red Deer; daughter Trish (Travis) of Sylvan Lake; daughter Kirsten (Dusty) of Haynes; six grandchildren: Sady, Emma, Olivia, Maddy, Grady and Delaney.

He was predeceased by his parents Svend and Marie; mother-in-law Rose; father-in-law Melvin; brother-in-law Murrey and sister-in-law Colleen.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 2:00pm by livestream. Link for livestream will be available 15 minutes before the service on Martin’s obituary page at oliversfuneralhome.com.

Memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke of Alberta (144, 5241 Calgary Trail NW, Edmonton, AB, T6H 5G8).

    I realized its been 4 years now, but I fondly remember all those safety meetings with UFA and Trimac. You and I had many meals together and chatted lots about our camping trips and Dodge Trucks. Martin I will forever remember your friendship.

    Long after Marty have moved on from working for us at T.C. Equipment, he remained a dear friend. We always enjoyed the times that he would stop at the shop for coffee and a good visit. We will miss him and his visits. Our thoughts are will you all in this difficult time.
