Obituary For Mary Dyck Fox

Mary Fox left us on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at the age of 78 years.

Mary was born on March 12, 1937 in Carrot River, Saskatchewan. When she was young, she moved with her family to southern Alberta to work sugar beets until opportunity called them to Silver Valley to homestead. There she met the love of her life, Richard who she spent the next wonderful 53 years with, farming, creating and raising their five children and many grandchildren.

Mary had love to spare and she welcomed others into her home as her own. She was known and loved for her community involvement, her fabulous cooking, her feisty spirit, her faith in God, and her gardens.

Her heart was broken when she lost Richard, on January 22, 2010 and again when her oldest daughter, Debra passed away on July 30, 2013

Her four children, their partners, fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren will miss her greatly.

A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 2:00pm, at the Savanna Agricultural Society Rec Plex in Silver Valley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethany Care Society – Level 8 (916 18A Street NW Calgary, AB, T2N 1C6) or to Fairview Health Complex – Long Term Care Unit PO Bag 2201, Fairview, AB, T0H 1L0).

Condolences

  • June 24, 2021

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Aunty Mary was so kind to me and I always felt welcome in her home. I love the picture because that's exactly how I remember her-smiling, laughing and always on the move. I don't think I can ever remember her sitting down! I loved it when she had us over for dinner as she was such a great cook. Moms are very special people and it leaves a hole in our hearts when we lose them. With deepest sympathy, your cousin, Dennetta Warberg.
