It is with immense sadness that the family of Matthew Bissell said goodbye on Saturday, March 20, 2021. He passed away in Grande Prairie, AB, at the age of 34 years.

Matthew was born in Vancouver, BC, and was raised in North Vancouver and in White Rock, BC, where he attended school and participated in many sports including: hockey, lacrosse, rugby, and snowboarding. He was a talented athlete and was always welcomed as a fun-loving and enthusiastic team member. Matthew moved from BC, to Grande Prairie, AB, twelve years ago to work in the oil and gas industry.

He was a beautiful, kind, and passionate soul who loved deeply. His love of animals started when he was a young boy and was comparable only to his zest for life and his creative mind. He knew how to bring joy and laughter to those around him and he took the time to appreciate the beauty in the everyday simple things and nature. He will be missed dearly and cherished always. He is now resting in peace with his loving grandmothers Alice and Irene.

Matthew will be lovingly remembered by his parents Mike and Irene; his beautiful young daughter Natalia; grandfather Gordon; siblings Kimberley (Josh) and Scott (Nicole); nieces and nephew: Calysta, Kendyl, Samantha, Emilyn, and Cohen; as well as his large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and those he touched with his friendship.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions the family is unable to travel to Grande Prairie for a memorial service for Matthew.
