Obituary For Matthew Gordon Hainsworth

After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that the family of Matthew Hainsworth announce his passing on Monday, September 4, 2017, in Grande Prairie, AB, at the QEII Hospital, at the age of 46 years.

Matt was born September 3, 1971 in Eckville, AB.

Matt had a huge heart, and a contagious smile. He was hardworking, and always willing to lend others a helping hand. Matt’s passion was welding but he also enjoyed hockey, baseball, skiing, golfing, dirt biking, riding his Harley and working around the farm.

He is survived by his loving family, his wife Christie; sons: Michael (Coralee), Jesse (Sarah), and Cole; granddaughter Sadie; parents Gordon and Doreen; brother Kevin (Renee); niece Chaise; and nephew Gavin. Matt will be greatly missed by the Ray family, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Matt was predeceased by his paternal grandparents David and Bettie Hainsworth and his maternal grandparents Jim and Theresa Thompson.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Leslieville Community Hall on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at 2:00pm.

Memorial donations may be made in honor of Matt to STARS (10911 123 St., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 7Z3).
