Obituary For Matthew James Richard Davidson

Matthew James Richard Davidson, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2017, at the age of 38 years.

Calgary born, hardworking, loving husband and father, Matt Davidson was a family oriented man who loved nothing more than spending time with his children, his wife, and family. His caring natures, sense of humour, and giant smile made people gravitate towards him.

If you knew Matt, you knew if he wasn’t working, or with family, then you would find him on the golf course, always willing to join you for a game. He also enjoyed camping and loved being a father and spending time with family and friends.

His passion for the Calgary Flames was a staple in his life. If you saw Matt, you would see the Flames, and whenever you saw the Flames, you would think of Matt.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and all who knew him. But just like his passion for everything in his life, his flame will continue to burn bright in all of our hearts.

Matt will be sadly missed by his wife Carly Jean Davidson; children: Tarek James Hugh Davidson and Sophie Jean Joan Davidson; step-son Brodie Mueller; father Hugh Lawrence Davidson; mother Belinda Marie Davidson; and sister Angela Ivy Davidson.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, September 10, 2017, at 11:00am, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.). Balloon release and driving range send off to follow at 3:00pm at Pipestone Golf Course (703064B RR 82, just past Wembley, directions available at pipestonegc.ca)

Carly so sorry we never got to go for that dinner together..now even more so. I was shocked and angry when I heard. Angry that this could happen with everything you guys had going on it was the shock of it I guess. Matt was an amazing man to work with as well as become friends with. He was truly larger than life. His bumper stickers will always come to mind when I think of him. So Ralph you've got a good old oilpatch worker with you now. Carly my deepest heartfelt sympathies to all of you. Brian Wilkinson
