Obituary For Maxine Anne Gripich

Maxine Gripich, resident of Clairmont, AB, formerly of Rycroft, AB, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023, in Grande Prairie, AB, at the age of 84 years.

Maxine was born on April 14, 1938, in Turner Valley, AB. Her mother, father, two brothers, and sister moved to Groundbirch, BC, where the family homesteaded. She met and married John Gripich and moved to Rycroft. They had 3 children: Dean in 1957, Ken in 1959, and Jamie in 1964.

The family would spend time in the Cranbrook, Edson, and Standard areas before Maxine and John would eventually move back to Rycroft and retire. Their last years were spent at Lakeview Seniors Lodge in Clairmont.

Maxine is survived by her three children: Dean (Doris), Ken (Shelley), and Jamie (Renee); 7 grandchildren: Todd, Ashley (Brandon), Jonathan (Afton), Cassidy, Reeghan, Julian, and Megan; as well as 5 great-grandchildren: Gabriel, Kaleb, Rochelle, Nash, and Everett.

Maxine was predeceased by her husband John in 2019.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.
