Obituary For Melvin Edwin Plitt

Melvin Edwin Plitt, resident of Grande Cache, AB, formerly of Millet, AB, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023, at home, at the age of 82 years.

Melvin was born on July 20, 1940, near Millet. He was raised on his family farm east of Millet, in a district called New Serepta. After graduating high school, he went on to get his tickets in steam engineering and carpentry. While he worked many years in steam engineering, his heart was in carpentry, and building things for others.

Melvin was a friendly person, always saying hello to the people he would run into around town. When friends and family would come for a visit, he would do his best to make them feel welcome.

When Melvin wasn’t busy watching the latest hockey game, or out in pursuit of the finest fish, you could surely find him in his woodworking shop making custom pieces for everyone far and wide.

Melvin will be sadly missed by his wife Roxanna Plitt; children Ron and Cyndie; step-children: Rob, Linda, and Andy; foster children: Jamie, Ken, and Bill; grandchildren: Chantelle, Mandi, Korena, Ty, Colby, and Kristian; step-grandchildren: Matthew, Cody, Rachel, Ember, Melody, and Jubal; great-grandchildren: Samantha, Braxton, Sophia, Mariyah, Rylee, and Malcolm; as well as step-great-grandchildren: Kaleb, Klayton, Lilah, and Hazel.

Melvin was predeceased by his loving wife Melody Plitt, and parents Emma and Robert Plitt.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 2:00pm, at Cornerstone Mountain Assembly in Grande Cache (11001 Leonard St.).

Memorial Donations may be made to Roxanna to help alleviate funeral expenses (altaroxy1945@gmail.com).
