Obituary For Michael Cruickshank

Michael Allen Cruickshank, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Wanham, AB, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020, at home, at the age of 23 years.

Michael was born on August 24, 1997, in Vancouver, BC. He was raised in Peoria and then moved to Grande Prairie at the age of 16. Michael was raised on the farm and was a farm boy and then he worked as a mover for a moving company.

He loved fast import cars, enjoyed snowball fights, had a thing for dogs, a passion for sports, embraced having brothers and he was always outside and there wasn’t anything he would not try. He was also a very loving and caring father.

Michael will be sadly missed by his childhood sweetheart Hope Gladu; daughter Scarlett Rose Sammy Gladu; his biological parents Nadine Frost and Richard Alexander; brothers: Matthew Buker, Austin Buker and Ryan Kiyawasew; sisters: Katie McFadden and Tiffany Copeland; aunt Darlene Davis; cousins Gabe (Lynn) Harvey, Shawna Green, Justin (Clardette) Davis, Kelvin Davis Jr. and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.

He was predeceased by his adoptive mother Mary Dawn Walters; grandparents: Mabel Harvey and John Bigfoot; brother-in-law Samuel Gladu; uncle Kelvin Davis and numerous aunties and uncles.

Due to COVID-19, an invitation-only Funeral Service will be held at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.) on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at 11:00am. Interment will follow at the Grande Prairie Cemetery (84 Ave & 112 St.).

    Micheal always could make me smile if I was having a bad day in a school. He always stuck up for me when I was getting picked on in younger grades and that was something I always remembered. There was never a motive to his kindness; and I will always look up to that.
