Obituary For Milan Joseph Kons

Milan Kons, known to many nieces and nephews as "Uncle Mino," passed away peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at the age of 82 years.

Milan was born on the family farm on September 30, 1935 near Sexsmith, AB. Known to many throughout the Peace River country, Milan developed an interest for music at an early age. Whether it be on the banjo, the guitar, or sometimes even a stint on the fiddle or piano, Milan played for countless weddings, parties, old-time country dances, and numerous family functions.

Milan married his “sweetie”, Anita Henrietta Isert, during an October 4th blizzard of 1958. Together they built a life from meager beginnings in a one-bedroom trailer, to working together in the Kons family business where they enjoyed each other’s company while never losing the romance that defined their special bond.

Son of Mary and Joseph, Milan was a carpenter by trade. When he wasn’t building something, or picking a tune, Milan could be found working in the garden with Anita.

Milan will be missed by his wife Anita; children: Randy (Shelley), Gary (Angela). Michele, and Diane (Geoff); grandchildren: Carly, Holly, Brittany, Jennifer, Melissa, Ben, Emily, Donavan, Tyson, and Katy; and is survived by his sister Anne.

Milan was predeceased by his infant daughter Eldine, and siblings Emil and Louis.

Milan’s family would like to thank the caregivers, and all those who have sent condolences and well wishes. His kind and gentle spirit touched so many and it will be missed.

Hello Anita & Family, We wish to send our condolences. When Don & I reminisce the early years of the Clairmont store, we smile, laugh & think of the good times. Milan is remembered as one of those rare people whom we always looked forward to seeing. Whenever we did managed to get a bit of a visit in, he had a unique way of making one feel better, not only for us, but for many others (Old Timers) still here in Clairmont. Sincere Sympathies, Sharon & Don Nelson
