Obituary For Monty Duane Arnold

Monty Duane Arnold was born on September 16, 1936, in Bozeman, MT, to Robert and Alma (nee Miller) Arnold. He passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at the age of 86 years.

He served in the US Navy and returned to Montana where he lived until he moved to Teepee Creek, AB, on January 21, 1974. He lived there until he moved to Grande Prairie, AB, in 2007.

Monty met and married Eve McElwee on November 5, 1971. He had been married previously. Monty worked at Bridger Ski Hill as tow operator, landscaping with Heisel Landscaping, farming, mechanic at R&B Equipment, and crane operator at Weyerhaeuser (P&G) until retirement. Monty was a jack-of-all-trades and could fix a lot of things or build them as well.

Monty and Eve moved to Heritage Lodge in Grande Prairie in October of 2018. Monty remained there until he had several TIA’s and at that time he was sent to the Grande Prairie Care Center where he could get 24/7 care.

Monty is survived by his wife Eve; daughter in-law Leona Arnold; three grandchildren: Brey-Anne, Kevin, and Shay-Lynn; daughter Jackie (Dave) Becker and one grandson, Joseph; three daughters Pamela, Elizabeth, and Laura; daughter and son Ranie and Thomas; as well as many friends and family.

Cremation will occur, however there will be no funeral.

Memorial Donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
