Nick Konopelka, resident of Rycroft, AB, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018, at Central Peace Health Complex in Spirit River, at the age of 88 years.

Nick was born in Greenway, AB on December 10, 1929 to Mary and Stephen Konopelka. He attended school in Greenway and he remained in the district where he met and married his wife Anne. They raised their children and farmed. During the winter months, Nick also worked in lumber camps and land clearing.

He remained on the farm in 2016 when his wife passed away. He then moved to Pleasant View Lodge in Spirit River. Nick enjoyed the short time he was at the lodge. He loved to socialize with his many friends.

Nick will be sadly missed by his daughter Janet Cutinha; sons: Harvey (Margaret), Shaykowski and Don Konopelka; grandchildren: Shane, Tyson (Kristy), Aaron, Lisa (Shane), Shauna (Dustin) Sheena (Nick), and Kurt; great-grandchildren: Ryder, Hayley, Annabelle, Brenna, Brady, Layla, and Nash; siblings Bill, Ann, Mary, Jean, Alice, Lena and their spouses; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Anne; parents Stephen and Mary; and siblings Alex 1^st, Alex 2^nd, Irene, and Olga.

A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at 2:00pm at the Rycroft Ag Society (5010 49 Ave).
