Obituary For Noel Boisvert
On Saturday, November 14th, 2015, at the age of 93, Noel Boisvert slipped the surly bonds of earth after a full life well lived.
Noel was born on December 25, 1921. He was an avid outdoorsman his entire life, a nature lover, a history buff, a photographer, an amateur geologist, astronomer, and a seeker of fossils and bones.
He worked for Northern Alberta Railways as a Station Agent and travelling representative from 1942 to 1981, serving in many communities in northern Alberta with his longest postings in Wanham and Falher. He retired in 1981 in Falher, and relocated to Grande Prairie in 1997. Noel had the distinction of being one of the last surviving telegraphers in Canada.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 71 years, Agnes; his daughters and sons-in-law: Louise and Terry Woroniuk of Peace River, Emilie and Ken Bean of Grande Prairie, and Patricia and Patrick Drapeau of St. Albert. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren: Jennifer (Gord Kowaski), Kris (Amanda) Bean, Douglas (Sarah) Woroniuk, Trudy (Jason McLennan), and Joelle (Jeff Wolinski); special grandson Rick Carter (Erin), and his beloved great-grandchildren. Noel is also survived by his remaining sibling, Annette Collman of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
He was predeceased by his son Roger Boisvert in 1997.
The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff of the Grande Prairie Care Centre where Noel resided for the past two and a half years. A special thank you to Doctor C. Lewis and Doctor B. Norris for their excellent care and compassion.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 1:00pm at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Grande Prairie (10404 102 St.).
Memorial donations in Noel's name may be directed to the Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum (Box 328, Wembley, AB, T0H 3S0).

My heartfelt condolences to Auntie Agnes, Louise & Terry (and family), Emilie & Ken (and family) and Patricia & Patrick (and family). Uncle Noel always made me feel so very special every time I saw him. He sent me a Christmas card each year until he could no longer do this and I always looked forward to his special little comment just for me. Each of you will have your own special moments and memories and will cherish those always. He will be greatly missed by many people. I am thinking of each of you at this very difficult time. Hugs!!! Love, Karen

Schreiber Noella and Emil
I first met the Boisvert family when I taught with Patricia at A.O'B. in Edmonton. We became best friends and it was not long before I met the entire Boisvert clan. I visited with Pat's mom and dad and her sisters when they visited in St. Albert and felt welcomed into their family. Noel was a great hunter and always shared his booty with Pat who gave most of it to me because she could not be convinced to eat wild game. As for me, grain-fed venison from the Peace country... what a treat! However, Patricia sat at my dinner table and enjoyed the veal parmesan that I served her, thanks to Noel's generosity. I think that Noel relished the idea of besting his young daughter. Noel and I shared a name and a birthday; I will always cherish the memories of the yearly Christmas calls from Louise or Emilie's house where the family gathered for their Christmas celebrations. Noel was a loving family man who will be sadly missed by all those who knew him. My sincerest condolences to all the family.

I only knew Noel from the care centre, when my mother was there. An encounter with Noel made any day different , interesting and better. the intellectual challenge of keeping up with his thinking, and the goings on in his universe. He made the nursing home a better place. His flag became a landmark for people giving or needing directions. Noel's good choices in family and friends was reflected in the constant stream of visitors, Agnes and Noel were well spoiled. Happy trails my friend.mLgyb4
