Obituary For Noreen Dawn Weiss

With peace in our hearts, we the children of Noreen Dawn Weiss, announce that our mother passed away peacefully at the Prairie Lakes Senior Home on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at the age of 94 years.

Noreen was born in Cardston, Alberta on April 11, 1930. She resided in Del Bonita, Alberta, until 1963 when the family moved to the farm in Beaverlodge, Alberta. Then in 1987 the family moved into the Town of Beaverlodge until 2021. She relocated to Grande Prairie, Alberta, where she resided until her passing.

Noreen enjoyed life and her family. She was very outgoing and adventurous. She was crafty with her hands, enjoyed playing cards and was very active in her community. One of her favourite things to say was, “I’m a tough old bird. I don’t mind swearing.”

Noreen will be sadly missed by her children: LaDean (Garry), Lorraine, Reid (Margie), Ron (Sue), Marilyn (Terry); as well as by her sixteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving Noreen is her sister, who still remains living at the age of 102 years, along with many family and friends who shared in her life.

Noreen was predeceased by her soulmate Dean, who passed away in 1997, as well as six of her siblings.

A Celebration of Noreen’s life will take place on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Beaverlodge United Church (403 -10 St, Beaverlodge, AB). A Livestream will be made accessible on the day of the service.

If you have any pictures or stories you would like to share of our dear mother, you can send them to noreenweiss1930@gmail.com.

The family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Prairie Lakes Senior Home for the wonderful care given to Noreen.

Memorial donations may be made to the Beaverlodge United Church (403 10 St., Beaverlodge, AB, T0H 0C0), Beaverlodge Hospital Foundation (Box 480, Beaverlodge, AB, T0H 0C0), Beaverlodge Cultural Centre (Box 569, Beaverlodge, AB, T0H 0C0), or to a charity of one’s choice.
