Obituary For Norma Emilie Cardinal

Norma Emilie Cardinal, resident of Boyer River, Beaver First Nation, Alberta, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020, at her home in Boyer, at the age of 65 years.

Norma was born March 6, 1954 in Fort Vermilion, AB. She was the fourth of nineteen siblings born to Madeleine and Rene Cardinal. She was raised in La Crête, AB, in the Sand Hills area.

Norma’s witty sense of humour will be missed by all. She was kind, caring, generous, loving, funny and smart. She loved making people laugh, it was contagious. She enjoyed puzzles, reading “Women’s World” and “True Mystery”, baking bread, playing radio bingo, and picking berries. She enjoyed family gatherings and was involved in many community events.

Norma will be sadly missed by her children: Ren (Sharlene) Lambert, Howard Lambert, Amanda Lambert, and Brooke Cardinal; numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren: Keylie, Liam, Carston, Arya, and Alayna. She raised her two of her grandchildren: Kayne Cardinal and Annie Lambert.

She was predeceased by her parents Rene and Madeleine Cardinal, daughter Nicole Lambert, brothers Terry Cardinal and Wayne Cardinal, sister Julie Cardinal, nephew Chad Sawan, and niece Dena Belcourt

A Wake will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020, at 2:00pm, at Child Lake Community Hall. A Traditional Service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020, at 2:00pm, at Child Lake Community Hall. Burial to follow between 4:00-5:00pm. Feast to follow at 6:00pm.

Memorial donations may be made to Palliative Care in Fort Vermilion.

    Thoughts and prayers to the entire family, she was an amazing lady, a true warrior woman. She had the greatest sense of humor and raised great kids who I am proud to call my best friends. RIP Norma.
