Obituary For Norman Christian Olson
The family of Norm Olson would like to honour his life. Norm passed away Monday, March 1, 2021, from cancer, at the age of 86 years.
Cornelius and Jenny Olson welcomed Norm into their family on June 29, 1934, at their farm in Wanham, AB. His siblings were: Ken (Jacqui), Ella (Harold), Betty, and Gordon (Linda).
Norm began working for Alberta Highways before graduating high school. He purchased a peddle bike as his method of transportation and he was extremely proud of it. He discovered a passion for steam engines when he worked for NAR at the roundhouse in Rycroft. He also worked on seismic projects later for several winters. In his 40’s he proudly accepted his Gasfitter Certificate and continued his career in this industry.
His career moved Norm and his wife Norma to various places through Alberta, British Columbia, and the northern territories. Norm and Norma retired to Dawson Creek, BC in their beautiful home.
Norm was predeceased by his parents Cornelius and Jenny Olson, brother-in-law Bob Blois, step-son Barry Goodrich, wife Norma (nee Leonard), and step-daughter Brenda McPhail.
Norms friends and his family of sisters; brothers; nieces; nephews; grandchildren: Darrah Lea, Danielle (Brent), Deanna (Ron), Ashton, Shelby (Tyler) and Cody; great-grandchildren; as well as his family in Norway will treasure their memories of him.
