Obituary For Paul Grattan Galway

Paul G. Galway, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, at the age of 90 years.

Paul was born in Edmonton, AB, however he lived his entire life in Grande Prairie. In 1953, Paul started his own insurance agency where he worked until his retirement in 1994. He was an active participant in the community and was a long-standing member of many organizations, including the Grande Prairie Army Cadets, Kinsmen Club, Rotary Club of Grande Prairie, Alberta Air Cadet League, Royal Canadian Legion, D’Company Armories Foundation, Grande Prairie Stamp Club, Alberta Automobile Insurance Board and the provincial and national insurance brokers’ associations.

Paul had many interests and hobbies which included travel, reading, golf, stamp and coin collecting.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Audrey Galway; his children, Cory and Maureen (Scott) Galway; and his grandchildren, Daelin (Aysu) and Bryn Nordmark.

Paul was predeceased by his parents, Judge Albert E. Galway and Dorothy Galway.

No Memorial Service will be held, however memorial donations may be made in Paul’s honour to Diabetes Canada (diabetes.ca) or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

    My condolences to the entire family. Paul gave me my first job when I moved to Grande Prairie. I always remember trying to decipher what he was saying when he dictated around the big cigar. I have a lot of good memories from that time.
