It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paulette Rose Salacki on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at the age of 63 years, with family by her side.

Paulette, one of God’s special angels, was born September 8, 1955 at Johanna Haakstad’s Midwifery in Sexsmith. She attended St. Mary’s School in Sexsmith for 1 year, then Peace School of Hope in Grande Prairie for 8 years. During her schooling, Paulette enjoyed puzzles and crafts, bowling, as well as track and field running events where she won many ribbons and trophies. Later Paulette acquired various life skills at Swan Industries in Grande Prairie. For the remainder of her life she resided with her parents and helped in a variety of ways on the farm.

Paulette faithfully attended church with her parents, and was a lifetime CWL member. She loved dancing at family gatherings, cuddling babies, hugs and kisses, and all animals. Paulette also enjoyed camping, picking berries, and dining out.

Paulette will be sadly missed by her mother and lifelong companion Trudy Salacki; siblings: Leonard (Gail) Salacki, Donna (Calvin) Conrad, Margaret Connolly, Betty Salacki, Dolores (Roch) Doyer, and Ken (Arlene) Salacki; as well as 44 nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father Wesley Salacki, brothers Adam and Lawrence, brother in-law Dave Connolly, and niece Shayla Salacki.

A Prayer Service will be held on Friday, July 26, 2019, at 7:30pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).

Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, July 27, 2019, at 1:00pm, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sexsmith (9928 97 St.).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation Intensive Care Unit or Palliative Care (10409 98 St., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 2E8).
