Obituary For Pauline Virginia Monnette

Pauline Virginia Monnette, resident of Grande Prairie, formerly of Eaglesham, AB, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2017, at the Grande Prairie Care Centre, at the age of 95 years.

Pauline was born in St. Laurent, QC, on September 18, 1921. She enjoyed horseback riding, fishing, hunting, crocheting, and helping others. She was a very loving, caring and devoted mother and friend. She volunteered for 14 years at the Salvation Army Food Bank. She was very involved with St. Joseph Catholic Church. She sang in the choir and was a beloved member of the community.

She will be sadly missed by her family, children: Evangeline (Ed) Levoir, Jeanne Rigler, Robert Monnette, Elise (Paul) Rawlinson, Yvonne (Dale) Adams, Marcel (Elaine) Monnette, Louise (Troy) Frost, and Marguerite Bayes; sister Agnes Bedard; 23 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

Pauline was predeceased by her husband Robert C. Monnette; sons: Maurice Monnette and Richard Monnette; daughter Florence Monnette; and grandson Glen Forder.

Prayers will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 6:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 10:00am, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grande Prairie (10404 102 St.). Interment to follow at the Grande Prairie Cemetery.

Following the interment, friends are invited to join the family at the Golden Age Centre for a time of fellowship (10222 101 Ave.).

Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army Food Bank (Box 907, Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 2T8).

    Pauline was one of the nicest person that I have ever met. She was kind, hardworking, smart and a devoted mother! My deepest sympathy to family and friends. God bless all of you and my thoughts are with you! I would be trilled to hear from one of the family members. Please feel free to call me or send me an e-mail because I would really like that!
