Obituary For Perry Brock

On September 27, 2015, with family by his side, Perry James Brock, resident of Hythe, AB, passed away at the age of 61.

Perry's love for music, which came from his father, brought so much happiness to him and his family's life. That natural talent was passed onto his sons and will hopefully be seen in the generations to come.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Helen Brock (Schellenberg); son, Darryl (Bobbi) Brock; grandchildren: Keaton, Kyler, Kerrick, Noah and Paisley Brock; siblings: Arden Brock, Dewey (Cheryl) Brock, Debbie (Bernard) Schellenberg, Shelly Peterson, Karen Blais, and Cathy (David) Graw; mother in-law Katharine Schellenberg; aunt and uncle Bruce and Mary Ann Brock; as well as many sisters and brothers in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Perry was predeceased by his son Quentin Brock; parents: Jack and Joyce Brock; father in-law, Julius Schellenberg; brothers in-law: Paul Peters and William Schellenberg.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 1pm, at the Beaverlodge Alliance Church. Luncheon to follow at the Alliance Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital (PO Box 480, Beaverlodge, AB, T0H 0C0).

From the spring of 1962 until the spring of 1964 Perry and I were inseparable. We spent almost every Saturday out in the forest looking for place to build a tree house. Our parents were close friends and it was quite the house when our families were together, kids playing in the basement and the parents Indian wrestling upstairs. Time and circumstance separated us. Years later it was with fond memories I visited the statue of Brock's Monument at Queen's Landing knowing I had met one of his descendants. My condolences and deep sympathies, I will always remember my very best friend "Perry".

Uncle Perry, together with Grandpa, had a great influence on me through their music. My most cherished and vivid memories of them both will live on through their voices and instruments, and they can rest well knowing that they've made the world a more beautiful place. My thoughts are with you all during this difficult time.
