Obituary For Peter David Flamand

Peter David Flamand, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Camperville, MB, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024, in Grande Prairie, at the age of 46 years.

Peter was an avid dog lover, he had FiFi for 16 years till she passed. He took excellent care of her, even feeding her before he fed himself. He was so sad when he lost FiFi. His family then bought him Koda, his next puppy and he fell in love with Koda immensely. When he talked about Koda’s antics, it made him laugh.

Peter had a hard time making friends, but when he did, they were treated like royalty. Peter loved all his nieces and nephews, there was no holding back the hugs and kisses. He also loved his great-nieces and nephews making homemade creations and coloring books. Peter would draw pictures for them to color, even if he had to do more than four copies, he didn’t mind at all. His love for all the kids was to the moon and back. We hope the children don’t forget uncle Peter for his weird antics, loud laugh, belly-flopping ways, creative crafts and drawings, homemade puppets, and movie nights while eating pizza.

Peter’s room was smack-packed with all his collectables, computers, comics, many books, homemade toys, D&D accessories, superhero toys and action figures in varying sizes, Halloween costumes, memorabilia and much, much more. Peter was always concerned about his collection and took very good care of his stuff with his most prized possession being his space suit.

Peter was very attentive, trustworthy, hands-on, creative, and a mentor to others. He shaped many of his nieces and nephews' lives. Storytelling and making people happy were his best traits. When Peter was happy or over-excited he clapped like a seal. He was a happy-go-lucky kind of guy. We all loved him. He is going to be missed by many.

Peter enjoyed writing, drawing, reading, preparing for Halloween, sewing, watching TV, spending time with his nieces and nephews, watching cartoons, and collecting memorabilia.

Peter will be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters: Josephine Lavallee (Jeff), George Leclaire, Brian Leclaire (Brenda), Sheila Leclaire, and Phil Flamand (Delilah), best friends Todd Leclaire, Jeffery Lavallee, Lynn McLeod, Mia Flamand, and sister Josephine. He will also be missed by his Grande Prairie buddies that were in his groups.

Peter was predeceased by his mom Nancy, dad Phillip, and his best buddy FiFi.

A Viewing will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 4:00 - 9:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).

Condolences

I worked with Peter back at ICE Productions and he was a gem, very much beloved by the whole crew. There are some people you meet who you immediately know that they are Good, and he was one. His collections were a testament to the delight and comfort he found in the world of imagination. I just wondered what he might be up to now and googled him today and am devastated to know he has passed. My heartfelt condolences to his family - he spoke adoringly of the folks and land he left behind. Have sweet dreams Peter.
