Obituary For Phyllis Eide
Phyllis Margaret Eide passed away peacefully at the Grande Prairie Care Centre, with family by her side, on Friday, July 1, 2016, at the age of 87 years.
Phyllis was born on February 13, 1929 in Camrose, AB to Anders and Bertha Lyseng. She attended Camrose Lutheran College, then the University of Alberta, became a teacher, and travelled to Woking for her first teaching assignment. It was there she was introduced to her future husband, Morley Eide. They were married on June 20, 1953, and soon purchased a farm near Sexsmith where they raised their five children. After Morley passed away in 1985, Phyllis moved to Grande Prairie, where she remained until her passing.
She loved books and spent many years working at the Grande Prairie Public Library where she could share this passion. She will be remembered as a kind, quiet and caring person.
She will be deeply missed by her five children and their families: Wade Eide and Stephen Forde, Kathryn and Philip Kildal, Karen and Jim Shannon, Craig and Cindy Eide, and Heather and Keith Horneland; her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Dara and Clint LaLonde and their children: Amery, Bailey and Emi; Lynette and Clay Torgerson and their children: Monty and Nora; Niko Kildal and Jason Nippard; Ivor and Kristina Kildal; Josh and Chantelle Shannon and their daughter Brodi; Daniel Anderson and Stacey Anderson; Brandon Anderson; Tyler Anderson; Alissa Horneland and son Torrin; Courtney Horneland and Jesse Cattle and their daughter Autumn; Derek Horneland; Kaylee Horneland and Curtis Cripps.
Phyllis was predeceased by her parents, her husband Morley, her brother Lyle Lyseng, her brothers in-law Arnold and Donald Eide, and her sister in-law Doris Fast.
Interment will take place on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 11:00am, at Northfield Cemetery.
The Funeral Service will take place on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 2:00pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grande Prairie (10407 – 100 St.).

I am very sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I will always and forever remember a kind and caring lady who used to sub for some of my classes when I was in school. She was always so gentle with us, and for me she was a bright light. We could use a lot more people like her on this earth, and thankfully, as I know in your family she has passed some of these kind hearted qualities on! Sincerely, Paula Rycroft-Gerlitz
