Placida Dawson, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on September 18, 2022, in her home, at the age of 61 years.

Ceda was born on June 29, 1961, in Bridge River, BC, and raised in Penticton, BC. She completed her education up to Grade 10, and later at age 32 she obtained her diploma. Ceda normally worked in janitorial and housekeeping. She also taught her daughter Tammy a lot about people.

Ceda loved to draw, almost every paper in the house would have her doodles on it. A funny story about how Ceda got her nickname “Ceda-bear”, was when she was hunting with her friends. Someone kept saying “see-da-deer!” “see-da-bear!”, and finally Ceda said “I see, tell someone else already!”. With that they responded with “look at the bear!”. After that, Ceda taught her children that communication means everything.

Ceda will be sadly missed by her children: Tammy Dawson (36), Aaron Dawson (34), Julis “DJ” Dawson (32), and Andrew “Andy” Dawson (30); mother Julia Mary Lanoue; father of her children Tim Dawson; grandchildren: Michael Dawson (18), Christian Dawson (17), Xaviar (15), Tony Roland Harding, and Kambria (3); sisters: Tonya Rose Harding and Anita Crystal Lanoue; as well as brothers Joseph Arthur Lanoue and Leonard Allan Lanoue.

A Viewing will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022, from 1:00-3:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).
