Obituary For Polly Ann Romanchuk

Polly Ann Romanchuk, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of McLennan, AB, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020, at the age of 56 years.

Polly was born in McLennan and raised on the family farm near Falher, AB. She resided in different residential homes until she came into the care of Signature Support Services in 1977.

Polly enjoyed people and being out in the community. She enjoyed helping and would often try to make people feel at home by helping them with their coat, purse, and hats – mostly because she loved hats! Over the years, Polly volunteered at various businesses such as Town Center Laundry, Style Six Hair Salon, and GG’s Hair Studio.

She will be sadly missed by her Signature Support Family; her sister Maxine Romanchuk; brother Russell and his wife Collen Romanchuk.

She was predeceased by her mother Stella Romanchuk; father William Romanchuk; as well as her brothers Brian and Dale Romanchuk.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at 1:00pm at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Polly and I hung out many years ago, for a few hours a week. Whether we were at swimming coffee or church, or just meandering through a park, Polly had a beautiful influence on all the people she met... I am so so thankful for her enthusiastic take on life, her ability to let you know exactly how she was feeling, she somehow communicated on a heart level that you were loved and accepted completely. All this Iâ??m sure you know, as her family, but felt to share, as she has felt like a sister to me too. Peace to you in your time of grief.
