Obituary For Robby Lappenbush

It is with heavy hearts we announce the unexpected and sudden passing of Robby Lappenbush in the early morning of Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the age of 47 years. Robby was born on July 17, 1970 in Grande Prairie, AB. He grew up and remained in Sexsmith until his passing.

Robby was a gentle giant with a big heart. He cared deeply about everyone who was blessed to know him. He would always be there to lend a helping hand to any family member or friend that needed him. His love of travel took him to many tropical places, most recently, to Mexico where he took the love of his life Laurrie Lloyd.

This was a love story for the ages. Meeting in elementary school Robby always knew that Laurrie was the one for him, but it didn’t work out. Reconnecting three years ago, this time Robby would make sure he got the woman of his dreams and he did! Sharing and making new memories with Laurrie and her children, Spencer and Jessica, made him the happiest man in the world.

He is lovingly remembered by his mother Marjorie Lappenbush; sister Livia (Matthew) Barnfield; brother Teddy (Monica) Lappenbush; nieces: Desiree (Kaylor, Gideon) Klause, Brittni (Elleigh) Barnfield, Brianna (Foster) Barnfield, Ashlyn and Jazmyn Lappenbush, Chloe and Sophie Breau-Lappenbush; and nephew Braden Lappenbush.

Meeting him in heaven is his father Fredrick Lappenbush and brother Willy Lappenbush.

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 2:00pm at the Sexsmith Civic Center (99 Ave).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation. (Unit 109, 10126 120 Ave., Grande Prairie, AB T8V 8H9).

Laurie and Robby's family I am so sorry to hear about Robby. I met Robby and Laurie at Tanya Richards wedding at our farm this past summer. Both Laurie and Robby made a lasting impression with us. Robby as a caring teddy bear guy and Laurie as a sweet, soft spoken gentle heart. What a wonderful couple you made. I remember Laurie telling me how she and Robby had reconnected a few years earlier and you could see the love they shared for one another. How fortunate for both of you, Laurie, that you had this opportunity to share something so special. My heart goes out to you, your children, and Robby's family.

We wanted to share our condolences with Robby's family. It is never easy to have to say goodbye to a loved one. The pain of loss can be unbearable. Our Creator promises us that one day this pain will be just a memory. That beautiful promise can be found at Revelation 21:3,4. Our pain and suffering will be a thing of the past, and we can cry tears of joy as we welcome back the ones that we love so much. We hope you find comfort in those promises.

I knew Robby in his younger years. We went to elementary and some High school in Sexsmith before l moved away. Robby was the gentle giant with the biggest heart. Nobody ever bothered us with Robby around. I tried reconnecting this past summer but missed him. I'm so sorry I couldn't make it back to say goodbye but one day l will get the chance to say hello again. Rest well my friend.
