Bailey it was a real sad day when I heard your Dad had passed, Rod and I at one time had some great hunting trips South of Grande Prairie. The one story I remember very well is we found this old trappers cabin that we made our own for the weekends in hunting season. It was October Long Weekend If I remember right we may have had a few drink the first night at camp. Anyway we got up in the morning and the wood stove was empty and the fire was out and we had ran out of wood. Rod jumped up and headed out the from door to run straight into a Bull moose just yards from the cabin I remember Rod grabbing his Gun this was going to be his first moose he had shot. I came out of the cabin with Rod he started shacking so bad he was hardly able to hold up the gun. His first shot at 25 yards missed his second bullet he jacked out of the gun onto the ground. But he made good with his third. Any way down went the moose, your dad was not much of a drinker but he decided it was time to have a few by noon he had changed the hunting story to a moving target at 100 yards. Anyway Rod was just a kind guy hard worker and was well respected in the food industry in GP.

It is with sadness that I hear about Rod's passing. He was a great guy, and was never too busy to stop his milk run for a chat. It is never easy losing a loved one. My prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Rod was a great and very funny guy. We shared many dried humour jokes and often teased each other. Will miss Rod, I truly admired Rods Humour on life, and will miss seeing him time to time.

I have been struggling to acknowledge the reality that Rod has passed. Nothing we can say can make the loss any less tragic. I will fondly remember Rod as he was; quick to grin and quick with a joke as I hardly remember a conversation where he was ever really serious. Even when he hit the moose with his 87 black and red 4X4 he joked about the safety of the moose and that it walked away unscathed. The picture you have chosen is so fitting. I am saddened that the years get away from us and we lose the contact we had when we were kids at family visits and events. I was just getting to visit with Rod again via Facebook and I will miss that. We truly have lost one of the good ones far too soon. Our deepest sympathies to everyone; our thoughts will be of you during this difficult time. Kelly and Lisa Hudson
