Obituary For Rodney Victor Zacharias
Rodney Victor Zacharias, resident of Grande Prairie, passed away in Stony Plain on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at the age of 1 year.
Rodney was born on January 30, 2013 at the Grande Prairie QEII Hospital. At one week of age, Rodney was diagnosed with Hirschsprung's Disease at the Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton, by his surgeon Dr. Mark Evans and his medical team. Rodney brought much joy and happiness to his family and amidst the suffering he endured, Rodney was always a content baby. He taught us to view life in a new way, and after a year of courageous fighting, he went to be in the arms of Jesus. We will miss you sweet Rodney.
He will be sadly missed by his parents Daniel and Alician Zacharias, brothers James and Isaiah, sisters Elizabeth and Christina; grandparents: Garry and Bonnie Wilkinson, Scott and Ramona Zacharias; great-grandparents Sherol Messenger, Don and Evelyn Kagey; Aunties and Uncles: Hannah (Fred) Madsen, Charity (Quinn) Montgomery, Matthew Wilkinson, Emmarie (Ben) Karcha, Alanna (Rhys) Cooper; and numerous great-aunts and uncles and extended family.
He was predeceased by his greatgrandparents: Johnnie and Clara Wilkinson, Margaret Messenger, Victor and Marilouise Zacharias; and his great-uncle and aunty Rodney and Christine Kagey.
The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 10:00am at the Grande Prairie Alliance Church (15502 102 St.).
