Obituary For Ronald Alvin MacGregor Tookey
Ronald Alvin MacGregor Tookey, resident of Edmonton, AB, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017, in Grande Prairie, AB, at the age of 82 years.
Ron was born November 19, 1934 in Edmonton, AB to Fred and Selma the third child of four. Ron married Lorraine McQueen on June 28, 1957 and together they raised their 5 children in Edmonton. He was employed by the City of Edmonton for close to 30 years until his retirement at age 55.
Ron was a talented athlete in many sports. His favorites were Hockey and Baseball. His hockey career spanned from playing junior with the Edmonton Oil Kings to finishing off his career with the Edmonton Monarchs.
Ron was caring, easy going, generous and a devoted Christian. He taught us all to be kind, to laugh, to forgive, and that family came first.
Ron will be sadly missed by his children: Terry, Mike (Janyce), Dale (Natalie), and Kori (Gary); grandchildren: Mark, Jeffrey, Jamey, Christopher, Halle, Dawson, Ava, and Griffin.
He was predeceased by his wife Lorraine, daughter Linda, brothers Fred and Ray, and sister Bernice.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 2:00pm, at Christ The King Lutheran Church in Edmonton, AB (13111 79 St. NW,).
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society (10531 Kingsway Avenue, Edmonton, AB, T5H 4K1).
