Obituary For Rose Racine Dawe

Rose Dawe, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Pembroke, ON, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021, at the QEII Hospital, at the age of 69 years.

Rose was born in L'Ile-du-Grand-Calumet, QC, on December 30, 1951, and raised in the Fort-Coulonge, QC, area. She was the second of three children born to Donald and Colomb Racine. Rose eventually moved to Pembroke, to marry Michael Dawe, and have their two children Lisa and Neil. She relocated to Grande Prairie, where she worked as an office manager, and enjoyed her five grandchildren.

She had a warm smile, and a very generous spirit. She was loved by all who met her, and she was a very loyal woman.

Rose could always be found curled up in her recliner, sipping her Tim Horton’s coffee, playing word games.

She will be sadly missed by her children: Lisa (Bryan) Dolan and Neil (Jenn) Dawe; grandchildren: Joshua Dolan (Emilie Jodouin), Cassie Clarke, Kaitlynn Clarke, Karson Dawe, and Cody Dawe; sister Helen (Helmut) Wolf (nee Racine); and niece Jennifer Cottrell (nee Wolf).

Rose was predeceased by her parents Donald and Colomb Racine; brother Roger Racine; and nephew Ben Wolf.

A private Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at 2:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home. A Livestream of the service will be available to view on Rose’s obituary page on Oliver’s Funeral Home website.

Memorial donations may be made to the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation (10409 98 St., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 2E8).

I am so sorry for your loss. Rose was such a wonderful soul, she always had a smile on her face and the sweetest heart. Such a caring, kind and generous woman - she could always turn your day around or uplift your mood. Growing up, I've known her since my high school years, she worked with my dad and my uncle Moe. She would always be someone that I would go to with my complaints about the dad's, she knew them inside and out and always provided great perspective. A sounding board through the many years. She is greatly missed. Thank you Mosa for being a part of my life, she was such an amazing person.

Dwayne and I are just so saddened, and so sorry to hear of the passing of Rosie. I have so many memories of her ... She was such a funny, steadfast, sweet, very talented woman, - when she was knitting something, her fingers just flew! She loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart, and I know how much she will be terribly missed by them all for a such a long time to come, and also missed by all who knew her. She is in my prayers. ❤️
