Obituary For Rudy Meinecke
Rudolf “Rudy” Gerhard Meinecke, resident of Grande Prairie, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019 in Grande Prairie, at the age of 83 years.
Rudy was born in Hüllstede, Germany on March 11, 1936. He came to Canada in 1956 to start a new life. He worked on a farm for a few years, but loved trucking better. Rudy had several jobs before getting his own trucks and hauling mobile homes. After 25 years, he moved on to other things and enjoyed 10 years working in an RV Park. After retiring, he still loved to drive a motorhome and look for the next fishing hole.
Rudy was hard working, easy going, loved his family and all animals, especially Meeko. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and all outdoor activities.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Jean; children Darcy, Tammy, and Lanny (Angel); grandchildren Matthew and Jordan; brother Hans-Hermann; and his family in Germany.
Rudy was predeceased by his parents and his brother in-law Roy Anderson.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 1:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).
