Obituary For Ruth Elin Larson (nee Myrha)
Ruth Elin Larson (nee Myrha), resident of Clairmont, AB, formerly of Fort St. John, BC, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021, in Grande Prairie, AB, at the age of 82 years.
Ruth was born on July 18, 1939, in Oslo, Norway. She was raised in Kongsberg, Norway. Ruth completed nursing school and worked at a children’s hospital studying to become a midwife. She came to Canada in 1958, following her beloved sister, Inger. Shortly thereafter, she started working in the Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital. While living in Valhalla Centre, AB, she met her future husband, Leonard Larson. They had four children and spent the rest of their lives together. Ruth was a very hard-working, family-oriented individual with a bubbly personality. She enjoyed travelling, camping, hunting, fishing, cooking, and working side by side with her husband in the oilfield for many years.
She is dearly missed by her beloved husband, Leonard; four children: Ray Lynn (Norbert), Wayne, Yvonne (Ron), and Glen Alan; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Ruth is predeceased by her parents, Johan and Magnhild Myrha; sister Inger; brother-in-law Bjorn; and brother-in-law Talbert.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, in Grande Prairie, AB.
