Ruth Smyth, resident of Grande Prairie passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at the QEII Hospital, at the age of 91 years.

Ruth was born on May 2, 1927 in Kuply, Poland. She came to Canada with her parents when she was two weeks old. They settled in High Prairie after a few years of living in Alberta. Ruth met Pete in High Prairie and they were married in 1948. They farmed there for 24 years before retiring and moving to Grande Prairie.

Ruth will be dearly missed by her four children: Shirley (Bob) Dumont, Charlie (Lorraine) Smyth, Darlene (Richard) Dahl, and Janette (Rick) Ferguson; seven grandchildren: Chris Dumont, Jason Dumont, Lisa Dumont, Kerri Renaud, Sheldon Smyth, Martin Smyth, and Mike Ferguson; and 15 great-grandchildren; as well as her brother Lenoard Kruger.

Ruth was predeceased by her husband Arthur “Pete” Smyth and brother Edward Kruger.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 3:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).
