Obituary For Sandra Jones Luckwell
It is with heavy hearts and fond memories we announce the passing of Sandra McDonald Milne Jones Luckwell, who left us suddenly on Thursday, February 16, 2017, in Grande Prairie, AB.
Sandra “Sandy” was born in her Granny’s home in Glasgow, Scotland on April 22, 1949. She was raised in East Kilbride outside of Glasgow. She immigrated to Canada in 1970, where she worked as a Nanny in Edmonton.
She was just about to return to Scotland, ticket in hand, when she met her sweetheart Doug. They met and started dating in September 1971 and were engaged in October of the same year. Sandy and Doug married in Edmonton, AB on February 12, 1972.
They started their life together on an acreage in Redwater, AB. They were brought to Grande Prairie a few years later when Doug started working at Procter and Gamble mill. Sandy and Doug raised four children in and around the Grande Prairie area.
Sandy was predeceased by her mother, father, stepfather, and sweetheart Doug.
She is survived by her children: Carrie, Jodi, Marc (Layne), and Tim (Maureen); siblings: Alistair (Isabel), Sandy, and Caroline; along with many in-laws, nieces and nephews, and “adopted” family.
Sandy enjoyed spending time with family. She treasured the company of those she loved. Throughout her life she touched many others for good. Sandy loved to share her cooking and crafting skills, researching family history, cub/scout leadership, and championing a good cause. She was well-known for her participation in first aid and casualty simulation activities. She will be missed by many. We are happy knowing that she and her true love are together once again.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 11:00am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (11212 102 St. Grande Prairie, AB).
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

I wish there were magic words to take your sorrow away. Your Mom's presence will always be with you and she will be watching over you every day. I know you take comfort in knowing she is now with your Dad in a happier place. May the fond memories you have of your Mother help you through this difficult time and may those memories start bringing a smile to your face instead of a tear to your eye. I wish I could be there to give you both a hug, but I am hugging you in spirit instead. God Bless you.

I don't have the flowery words to say at this time but I want you to know how deeply your mom impacted my life. Her sense of humour, toughness through adversity and love of life made me want to do better. She was a presence- one never to be messed with. I'm sending you all my love at this time. Be there for each other and carry on her beautiful legacy.
