Obituary For Schyler Cameron Siemens

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Schyler Siemens, on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at the age of 29 years, in Grande Prairie, AB.

Schyler was born May 17, 1994, in Grande Prairie, AB, to Brent and Judith Sawatzky.

Schyler was raised and went to school in Grande Prairie and graduated high school in 2012. After completing high school, he worked a few different jobs before becoming a certified Red Seal Electrician for Bear Electric with his uncle. He did the grown-up thing, and bought his first house and got two dogs, Augustus and Phoebe.

After a few years of working for his uncle, Schyler went to work at Weyerhaeuser, and in 2020 he met his soulmate who would change his life, and hers. He would do anything for Alissa.

On October 7, 2023, Schyler married the love of his life, Alissa Tissington, and they loved each other more than words could ever say.

Schyler loved being outdoors, and he spent a lot of his time outside hiking, riding his motorcycle, snowboarding, hunting, and playing tennis, or he could be found inside video gaming. Schyler was a quiet guy who will be remembered for always giving us his famous smiles. Schyler was filled with patience and grace, a good trait we all learned from.

Though only married six weeks, Schyler will be sadly missed by his wife Alissa Tissington; parents Marty and Judith Siemens; sisters Daryce Siemens, Colby (Chad) Peacock (their children Theadora and Oliver); brothers Tayen and Jet; grandma Anne Wolfe; father and mother-in-law Dean and Kim Tissington; brother-in-law Dalen Tissington; as well as many aunties, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Schyler was predeceased by his father Brent Sawatzky, grandparents, aunties, and uncles.

Schyler lived a life we could all look to and learn from, his kindness and grace will be remembered forever.

A Viewing will be held Saturday, November 25, at 1:00pm, at the Grande Prairie Alliance Church in Clairmont, AB (15502 102 St.). A Service will follow at 2:30pm. An interment will follow at 4:00pm, at Grande Prairie Cemetery (84th and 112th St.).

Please note: a correction has been made and the service for Schyler will not be livestreamed.

You dont know me but lost my son in september also at 29 My heart is broken for you all. I find comfort in holding onto the believe that God is taking the good ones early. Life will not be the same. One day at a time one foot in front of the other. Do it for him. So sorry to you all for your loss. You are in my heart and will pray for your comfort in times of pure sadness and sorrow while you try and get through this tremendous loss. You are not alone. Life will not ever be the same but dig deep for pure strength everyday and you will go on. I set up a memorial room in my spare room of all his favorite things and it gives me some comfort.
