Obituary For Shannon Dawn McBride
Shannon Dawn McBride, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Beaumont, AB, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at the Grande Prairie Care Centre, at the age of 56 years.
Shannon was born on June 12, 1965, in Moose Jaw, SK, to Patricia Cragg and Clifford Millham. The family moved to Wembley, AB, when Shannon was 4 years old. She attended Wembley Elementary School and Beaverlodge High School. She worked at the Zellers Post Office while she was in high school. She then moved to Edmonton, AB, and worked at Zellers there. Shannon took part in the 4-H Multi Club, Brownies, soft ball, and took a sign language course.
Shannon moved to Beaumont and married Ron McBride on August 31, 1996. They had and raised their two children in Beaumont, and the family was very involved in church activities while they lived there. She had various jobs, but she mostly drove school buses.
You could hear her joyous laugh across the room in a crowd. She was always a happy person. Shannon loved heavy rock, she knew every word to every song, and at concerts she rocked it!
Shannon enjoyed crafts of all kinds: t-shirt decorating, jewellery making, painting, sewing, crocheting, and wood working. She sewed Halloween costumes, decorated birthday cakes, and did themed birthday parties. Church was also a very important part of her life.
In 2009, Shannon and her daughter Kaitlin moved to Grande Prairie, to live with her mother and brother. She worked various jobs, but dementia gradually overcame her, along with her sister Rhonda. Shannon and her sister both lived with their mother until moving to the Grande Prairie Care Centre in late 2018, where they would both pass away.
Shannon will be sadly missed by her children Dylan Kane McBride (Akayla Farnel) and Kaitlin Dawn McBride (Niall Maksym); mother Pat Cragg; brother Warren Millham; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
Shannon was predeceased by her father Clifford Millham and sister Rhonda Millham.
A Memorial Service will be held in the summer of 2022, in Arbourfield, SK.
Memorial Donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and NWT (102, 9823 116 Ave., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 4B4).
