Obituary For Sharon Diane Sheridan
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Sharon Diane Sheridan, who fought a hard battle with cancer. She showed great strength and determination. Sharon passed away with her family by her side on Friday, July 19, 2024, at the age of 73 years.
Sharon was born on June 4, 1951, in Grande Prairie, AB, to Ruby and Clarence Boyer. Sharon grew up in Grande Prairie, along with her two brothers and one sister: Brian, Verna and Wayne. In 1971, Sharon married Dale Sheridan and welcomed their son Grant in 1971, and Rodney in 1974.
Sharon worked at the Dragon Palace and Imperials Garden. Raising her boys took up much of her time. They enjoyed their summers at their cabin at the Narrows of Sturgeon Lake. During the 42 years of being at the lake, they made many good friends. She and Dale loved travelling and spent the majority of their retirement in Yuma, Arizona.
Sharon loved kids and kids just loved her back. She had a way of connecting with them with her big warm smile and making them feel special. Sharon’s favourite outing was bingo. She also loved shopping. She could shop for hours and usually find something however, not always exactly what she was looking for, so of course she’d have to go again. She enjoyed going out for lunch which was occasionally followed by a visit to the casino. She would always say, “I never win a darn thing!”, however, she always enjoyed the outing and visiting with friends. She would have nicknames for some of her friends that would last a lifetime.
Sharon will be deeply missed by her husband of 53 years Dale Sheridan; her son Rodney Sheridan; grandson Tanner Sheridan; daughter-in-law Cherie Sheridan; brother Brian and Alanna Boyer their children Clayton and Jackie Boyer and family; Tyson and Lesa Boyer and family; Scott and Jen Hudson and family; Jen and Will Wilson and family; sister Verna Boyer and Willy Cochrane and their children: Shawn Cochrane and Mandy Mundle, Sandy Cochrane and Travis Bredeson and their son Draper Bredeson; brother Wayne Boyer. Sharon will also be missed by many extended family and friends.
Sharon was predeceased by her son Grant Sheridan; and parents: Ruby and Clarence Boyer; and in-laws William and Betty Sheridan.
The family would like to sincerely thank everyone at the Points West Hospice in Grande Prairie for their care of Sharon over the past five months.
Donations may be made in memory of Sharon to the Grande Prairie Palliative Care Society.
A casual Celebration of Life in Sharon’s honour is to be held on Friday, Aug 2, 2024, guests are welcome to drop in from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at the Jackpot Bar & Grill in Grande Prairie (10904 - 92ave).

To my cousin Sharon. I always was made to feel like an extended piece of the Boyer family. Things I remember about Sharon. Sleeping 3 in a double bed with Verna. Reading Life magazines about Vietnam boys and eating spits. School lunchs in jr.high chewing bean sandwichs. Much later how Sharon was there for my Mom. Taking many road trips together. She came with Mom to Mayerthorp to pick up my kids (Brett and Alex) . Sharon loved to sing in the car. Loved life and all. We'll miss you Sharon. Love Donna Drummond (Patterson)

I fondly remember the trip we took to Camp He Ho Ha and Camp Horizon in order to see how we could make Camp Tamarack a better facility and take it to the next level. Dale was the president at the time and Sharon became the social convenor on the trip. A quick trip or two to the wine store and the evenings were a big hit. My condolences to you Dale and your family. You are a great guy and stay strong as you continue your journey.

It is hard for me to send this as I can't believe Sharon is gone and I can't talk to her. We have been friends for 50 years . I have so many wonderful memories of the time we spent together and will always have them. I am sure she is playing cards with Ernie and they aren't in pain anymore. My condolences to you Dale thinking about you and also to you Rod and the rest of the family.

Sharon was my best friend in high school and my brother introduced her to Dale. Although I have been gone from GP for many years, I always tried to get in contact with her when I came home. We shared so many good times together growing up and it is hard for me to believe she is actually gone. My deepest condolences to Dale and the rest of the family. Cherish your memories as I will be cherishing mine. Marilyn & Ches Henderson (Red Willsey)

Ron Patrick
My name is Ron Patrick a former teacher of Sharon's son Rodney and one of his friends! I have met Sharon on a few occasions and admire the way she lived her life. Anyone these days who has been married for 50 plus years has to possess many fine qualities! To raise a family with honest and hard working children also speaks to her character. It gives me great JOY to think of how she also spent time making friends, traveling, shopping, playing and enjoying life. Her life was one that was well spent! My Faith gives me the hope and confidence that there is life following death and that families can be forever. Painful sorrow for separation now will set the table for a joyful and happy reunion in the future. God Be With You Til we meet Again.
