Sheldon Murray Moon, resident of Calgary, AB, formerly of Grande Prairie, passed away from an untimely death on Sunday, July 10, 2016 in Calgary, at the age of 48 years.

Sheldon was born on January 15, 1968 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Murray and Chris Moon. He moved to Grande Prairie with his family in 1975, where the stayed for a year before moving to Calgary for 2 years, and then settling in DeBolt. Sheldon attended Ridgevalley School. Over the years, Sheldon worked as a roofer for Standard Roofing and Robideau Roofing before settling on becoming a floor installer. He moved his family to Fort McMurray for 5 years, where he worked as a floor installer and then returned to Grande Prairie. He had recently moved first to Edmonton and was just settling into his place in Calgary at the time of his death.

Sheldon was an honest, brave, compassionate, caring, giving and loving person. He was very passionate about learning to become a better person and all he believed in.

Sheldon’s main interests were his children and cooking. He enjoyed making what his boys liked to eat.

He will be sadly missed by his children: Harley, Kitt, Austin and Mary; grandson Brayden; parents Murray and Chris of Grande Prairie; brothers: Shawn of Calgary, Shane (Donna) of Edmonton and Shanley (Tracey) of Grande Prairie; nephews Tristan and Trevor Moon of Campbell River, nieces Tyler and Tara Moon of Campbell River; nieces Jordyn, Alexa and Kenna Moon of Grande Prairie, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was predeceased by both maternal and paternal grandparents.

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 2:00pm, at Victory Church on the Rock in Grande Prairie (7702 100 St.).
