Obituary For Sophie Charlotte Aldred

Sophie Charlotte Aldred, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Faust, AB, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at the QEII Hospital, at the age of 84 years.

Charlotte was born in Faust, in a tent on the bank of Lesser Slave Lake. She met Bill in Grande Prairie at the York Hotel and they were married in 1958. Together they had 5 boys. They lived near Flying Shot Lake until they moved to Wembley in 1974.

Charlotte was a mother by nature, loved children, family, and had a survivor’s spirit.

She loved knitting, watching movies, visiting, bingo, baseball, dancing, music, reading, crosswords, and curling.

Charlotte will be sadly missed by her children: Ray and Elaine (nee Watson) Aldred, Bill and Bev (nee Erickson) Aldred, Jim and Mary Joe Aldred, and Garth and Patsy; grandchildren: Catherine, Rueben, Ray Jr., Jenny, Trevor, Tylor, Todd, Nathan, Jocelyn, Amos, Ariel, Erica, Grace, James, Bart Jr., Kristin, Delly, and Miranda; as well as 32 great-grandchildren.

Charlotte was predeceased by her husband William Budd Aldred, son Bart Thomas Aldred, as well as many other relatives.

A Viewing will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021, from 7:00-9:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave).

A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at 2:00pm, at the Aldred family farm in Beaverlodge (103065A Twp Rd. 720). Interment to follow at Beaverlodge Cemetery.
