Obituary For Stephen Sheldon Fredrickson

Stephen Sheldon Fredrickson, resident of Beaverlodge, AB, formerly of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at the QEII Hospital at the age of 55 years.

Steve was born on January 25, 1965, in Dawson Creek, BC, to Jean and Edward Fredrickson. Steve’s birth was much anticipated by his parents, as he was the first boy of the family. Steve was raised in Bear Canyon, where he lived until he was 15, when he began work on the rigs. Steve had a successful 38-year long career in the oilfield, working a variety of positions including being a heavy equipment operator.

He was very well respected and liked by his peers. Outside of work, Steve enjoyed fishing, music, carpentry, and most importantly, time with his family. He was passionate, creative, loving, a perfectionist, skilled in all trades, self-taught, loved debating politics, and bragging about his four daughters.

Steve will be sadly missed by his spouse Ashley Lebel; children: Eden, Carli, Ellaira, and Skylar; his father Edward Fredrickson; siblings: Brenda Dryer, Dawn Fredrickson, and Glenda (Sean) Magee; nieces and nephews: Britney Fredrickson, Aaron Fredrickson, Ashlee (Lance) Wasylciw, and Celeste (Darcy) Sideroff.

He was predeceased by his mother Jean Fredrickson.

A private, family-only Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at 2:00pm at Oliver’s Funeral Home (10005 107 Ave.). For those who wish to view the service via livestream, a link will be posted at the bottom of his obituary 15-30 minutes prior to the start of the service.

Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society AB/NWT Division (200, 325 Manning Road NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 2P5).
