Obituary For Steven John Stanley

Steven John Stanley, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at the QEII Hospital, at the age of 57 years.

Steve was born on November 15, 1963, in Kitchener, ON, to Barb and Stew Stanley. He went to Valley Heights High School. Steven joined the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry at the age of 18 and continued in the army until 1988. He started driving trucks after that in Calgary, AB.

Steven would go out of his way to help anyone. He had many friends. Steve enjoyed quadding, watching NASCAR races, and camping.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Sandra Stanley; brother Doug; sisters Val and Bev; step-son Joey (Churstie) Rennie; and grandchildren Mason and Sydney.

    Sandra Stanley and Family I write to express to you and your family the sincere condolences of the Patricias on the passing of Steven Stanley. The Regiment remember Steven's service, and you and your family should be proud of that service. His name will be read in this yearâ??s list of the lost when we read that list out next November in the Scared Space in Beechwood, the National Military Cemetery, Ottawa. His name will also be listed in the 2021 edition of the Patricianâ??s Last Post section. Should any of Steven's family want to maintain a connection with the Regiment, a gratis three year Memorial Membership in the PPCLI Association is available.
