Obituary For Stéphane Leduc
Stéphane Leduc, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Buckingham, QC, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2020, at his home, at the age of 50 years.
Stéphane was born in Hull, QC, on May 3, 1969. He was raised in Buckingham, QC. Stéphane then joined the army at 18 years old.
He was very proud to be an infantryman for the Van Doos, for which he served 23 years. His military career included 2 tours in Bosnia in 1992 and 2002. Following his last tour, he became an instructor a L’Ecole de Combat. In 2006, he got a posting in Yellowknife, where he was a Ranger Instructor for 6 years before retiring from the military. Following his military career, he chose to follow his dream of acquiring his class 1 driver’s license, where he eventually moved to Grande Prairie to work in the oilfield as a truck driver, a cement truck hauler, and a water truck hauler.
He loved spending time with his granddaughter, and always joked about how much his daughter came to his house. It was always just the three of them: dad, mom, and daughter until she had his granddaughter Sofia and then it was always the four of them.
Stéphane was always very funny, a comedian who loved to make people laugh. He was loving, caring, indecisive, and a perfectionist. He loved riding his Harley motorcycle, going to his “shop” to do woodworking, wood carving, relaxing with his dog and best pal Jayco, and spending time with his wife, his daughter, and his granddaughter.
Stéphane will be sadly missed by his wife Stefanie Leduc; daughter Jessica Leduc; son Sebastian Eichhorn; granddaughter: Sofia Martha Leduc-Hussey; his dog Jayco; military brothers and family; his brother Mark and family; the Talbot family; all his friends; and by anybody who had the chance to meet this amazing man.
“Je me souviens”
Cremation will take place on April 9, 2020.
Memorial donations may be made to his granddaughter Sofia’s Education Fund (email: jessica-leduc@hotmail.com)
