Obituary For Susan Strid

Susan Strid, resident of Wembley, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at the age of 53 years.

Susan was born January 27, 1964, in Grande Prairie and was the eldest daughter of Jim and Jeannette Fletcher. Her family moved to Peace River in 1967 where they lived for a number of years before returning to Grande Prairie in 1975.

Following her graduation from the Composite High School, she continued her studies for two years at GPRC before completing her program at the University of Alberta in 1987.

She had a constant desire to learn new things and had a dream of travelling the world. She loved to go quading and camping, and loved all kinds of crafts. In her early years she was an avid figure skater, and though she became less competitive, she enjoyed skating all her life.

She will be so sadly missed by her loving husband Don Strid, as she embarks on this new journey alone. She will also be missed by her children: Courtney Strid and Stephanie (Chris) St Hilaire; step-children: Nicky Sorenson and Jennifer (Brent) Tansem; grandchildren: Hailey and Oliver St Hilaire; mother Jeannette (Bob) Bickell; sister Jill (Rob) Skuse; brother in-law Vern (Shirley) Strid; as well as numerous other close friends and family.

There will be a Private Graveside Service to celebrate her life. She was a light in our lives, and though the light has been extinguished, her memory will live on with us forever.
