Obituary For Terry Arnold Johnson
Terry Arnold Johnson passed away peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2017 while surrounded by his loved ones.
Terry was born in Big Timber, Montana, on December 11, 1927. At the age of ten months he travelled with his parents to homestead in Valleyview, Alberta. Terry was the oldest of thirteen children, and was predeceased by his parents Tobias and Anna Johnson (Welander), four of his siblings, his wife of over fifty years Pauline Johnson (Deering), a granddaughter and a great-grandson.
He leaves to mourn his devoted children: Melody (Glen) Peters, Elwood (Ana) Johnson, Victoria (Ken) Johnson, and Justin Holmes; grandchildren: Candice Austin, Jarett (Lori) Johnson, Tyson (Brittany) Peters, Jamieson (Justine) Johnson, Alisha (Drew) Pollard, Alanna Peters, Matthew Johnson, Noelle Johnson and eleven great-grandchildren. Also mourning the loss of Terry, are his eight remaining siblings and their families, the Deering family, many friends and loved ones, and brothers and sisters in the Lord.
Terry had a love for sports, and curled and played horseshoes well into his eighties. He enjoyed and missed his sports friends when he was no longer able to play.
As his children, we remember him as a loving father, always willing to see only the very best in each of us. In his own words, “I have had a good life. I have been blessed with so much. I have a family who loves me and friends who make life so enjoyable. Heaven is going to be worth it all, and a wonderful reward. There is going to be a reunion day coming and what a day that will be.”
For close friends and family who wish to attend, there will be a Viewing on Tuesday May 2, 2017 at 7:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).
Everyone is welcome to the Funeral Service which will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at 2:00pm, at the Evangel Pentecostal Church in Valleyview, Alberta. Graveside service to follow at the Valleyview Cemetery.
If you wish to make a donation in his honour, please consider the Grande Prairie Hospice Palliative Care Society (Box 21215, Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 6W7).

Our sincere condolences on the loss of your dad. He will always live on in our memories as a very kind, loving soul. I have many found memories of him, especially because he always called me LaVonn. No words can describe the loss felt from the loss of ones parent. Hoping Gods love will see you through your sorrow. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Love, Yvonne & Dale
