Obituary For Thelma Louise Smith Andrews

Thelma Louise Andrews (nee Smith), resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Dawson Creek, BC, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the age of “her little finger”.

Thelma was born to Robert Lee Smith and Viola Elizabeth Snyder Smith on December 16, 1930, at Mount Clemens, Michigan. She was a beautician, worked in the vineyards, beekeeper, flag person, fire-watch technician, nanny, lifelong learner, mom, nana, and great-nana. She was passionate about dogs, birds, the outdoors, farm animals (especially Fred the donkey and her horse named Horse), church, natural healing techniques and crystals.

Thelma was spunky, adventurous and determined. She often would say things such as, “I shot ya, hehe!”,“The more hurry, the less speed”, “He’s a nice boy” or “See ya in the funny papers!”.

She will be sadly missed by her children: Christine, Eugene II, Robin (Sharon), Shawn, Ian (Teresa), and Elizabeth (Wayne); grandchildren: Aaron, Thor, Steve, Wendy, Graham, Grant, Grady, Gray, Benjamin, Kristen, Zachary, Charli-Anne, Joshua, Chelsea, Kylee, and Jessica; and her twenty-six, soon to be twenty-seven, great-grandchildren.

Thelma was predeceased by her parents Robert and Viola; sister Elinor; son Junior; and grandson.

The Funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Spring Creek Church in Dimsdale, AB (55.1276, -118.9984). Interment to follow at the Spring Creek Cemetery, in Dimsdale.
