Obituary For Theodore Schoepp

Theodore Karl Schoepp, longtime resident of Wembley, AB, passed away at the Grande Prairie Care Centre, on Friday June 22, 2018, at the age of 92 years.

Ted was born on April 21, 1926 in Stony Plain, AB. He was the 6th of 12 children born to Ludwig and Wilhelmina Schoepp. He was raised on a farm near Wembley. Ted met his future wife, Leona, at a Lutheran Church Walther League gathering in Regina. They were married on June 16, 1961 in Regina, SK. They moved to the farm location south of Huallen, where they lived until 2007, at which time they moved into Beaverlodge and then to Hythe.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Leona on April 24, 2013. In 2016, he moved to the Grande Prairie Care Centre. Ted had a strong faith and lived it daily. He was very active in his church community, a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Laymen’s League, and was a longtime Sunday school superintendent. He enjoyed gardening and loved to show off his yard to all who visited. He also took great pride in making sausage and his recipe is still enjoyed by many.

Most of all, Ted loved spending time with his family. He was a loving and supportive father and husband, and took great pride in being a grandfather.

He will be sadly missed by his children: Ken (Debra), Rodney (Chanelle), Janice (Tony) and Lloyd (Venita); grandchildren: Ken Jr., Amanda, Christopher, Aaron, Joshua, Liam, Logan, Brier and Lund; and his great-grandchildren Sophia and Stella. As well, he is survived by his brother John and sisters Helen and Anna.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at 11:00am, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wembley, AB (90079 Township Road #712).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lutheran Hour Ministries (270 Lawrence Ave., Kitchener, ON, N2M 1Y4, www.lhmcanada.org).
