Obituary For Thomas "Tom" Denis
Thomas “Tom” Denis Jr., resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at the Grande Prairie Care Center at the age of 71 years.
Tom was born in Leader, SK. At the age of two, Tom, with his parents and two of his brothers moved to Silver Valley, AB, and later to Spirit River, AB, area where he spent most of his life. Besides farm work, Tom worked on the rigs, boiler systems, concrete, and anchors. He loved the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, and panning for gold were some of his hobbies. He will be forever loved and remembered by his family and friends.
Tom is survived by his brothers John (June) and Ed (Vicky), sisters Aquina and Mary (Rob) Weintz, sister in-law Donna Denis, his longtime friend Bella and her children, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Tom was predeceased by his infant son Billy, parents Tom and Pauline, as well as his brother Jim.
A Private family funeral and burial was held on Monday, August 16, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church and Cemetery in Spirit River, AB.
The family wishes to thank the staff and Doctors at the QEII Hospital and the Grande Prairie Care Center for the outstanding care Tom always received throughout the years. A warm thank you to Father Leo English and Father Arockiam Savarimuthu for their spiritual support.
