Obituary For Thomas "Tom" Lee Schreiber

Thomas “Tom” Lee Schreiber, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Gundy, AB, passed away in Edmonton, AB, Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at the age of 27 years.

Tom was born in Dawson Creek, B.C, on January 13, 1994, and was raised in Gundy. He went to school at Tate Creek and graduated from SPSS in Dawson Creek.

From an early age, Tom was a fighter. Shortly after he was born he was diagnosed with a heart condition. He then developed with whooping cough and was sent to Vancouver, B.C. That was just the start of his many trips to Vancouver and later to Edmonton for heart operations, but he never gave up. In 2020, he went for his last heart operation and ended up losing his hands and legs due to complications. Tom didn’t let that stop him, he wanted to get up and walk with his legs.

Tom worked for Rentco and on the Taylor Bridge as a welder’s helper. He then worked at Walmart, and after that, his health prevented him from working.

The last year he lived in a house in Grande Prairie, which he really liked, especially his caregiver and his housemates. He was really into playing his guitar and he was very good at it. Tom fell ill with Covid and was never really healthy after that.

Tom leaves to mourn his dad and mom Clayton and Lorie Schreiber; sister Nicole; brother Tyler; nephew Gatlin; gramma Janet Moore; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Tom was predeceased by his grandparents Bev and Ina Schreiber; grandfather Ray Moore; uncle Randy Moore; and aunt Caroline Schreiber.

Our sincere condolences to you and your family. My son Jeremy was Tom's room mate so we had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know him. We always enjoyed visiting with him when we visited our son. We were broken hearted to hear of his passing. May he rest in paradise after his struggles here on earth.
