Obituary For Tyler Hugh Alfred Turgeon
Tyler Turgeon, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at the age of 37 years.
Tyler was born January 3, 1986, in Squamish, BC, and as his mom said, “he came quick.” He was raised and attended school in Squamish until the age of 15, when he joined his family in Spirit River, AB.
Tyler started working, and found his passion on a Vac Truck for WN. He was often requested on jobs and enjoyed his time as the “Tank Terminator”. He spent many years working at Total Depth, and most recently, Avenge. He always maintained a hard-working attitude.
Tyler became a father to his son, Ryder, who was born October 8, 2016. He showed patience, and encouragement to Ryder, and wanted to give his son the best life he could.
Tyler enjoyed working, dirt-biking, tinkering or fixing anything, music, electrical, fixing motors, RC’s and go-carts. He will be remembered as a shy, charismatic, honorable, heart-of-gold perfectionist. He was a hard worker, great teacher, amazing father and uncle, and also a bit of a shithead. He was a “give the shirt off his back” man who deserved to be loved for who he was. He was fun to be with and an amazing driver.
Tyler will be immensely missed by his son Ryder, cat Squeaks, and the large group of family, friends, and colleagues his life touched.
Tyler was predeceased by his grandpa Leo, grandma Gertrude, uncle Hugh, father Raymond, grandma Viola, mom Crystal, and aunty Angela.
A Memorial will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at 2:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.). A Celebration of Life will follow at the Paradise Inn/Tractor Jack’s Rotary Room (11201 100 Ave.), at 4:30pm, where there will be a potluck dinner. There will be an open mic if anyone would like to speak or tell a story about Tyler.
