Obituary For Verna Marie Crowe

On Monday, June 3, 2024, Verna Marie Crowe (nee Ford) passed away at the age of 92 in the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital. She died in the arms of her two daughters, Joann and Janet.

Verna was born February 20, 1932, in Bezanson, AB, and remained a lifelong resident. She was the thirteenth of fourteen children born to William and Vera Ford. She was pre-deceased by both her parents; her siblings: Harold, Fred, Charlie, Evelyn, Ross, Vern, Myrtle, Harvey, Elsie, Henry, Ellen, John, Janet and each of their spouses; and her dear husband Gordon.

She married the love of her life, Gordon Henry Crowe, in 1950, and remained happily married until his death in 1988. They had two daughters, Joann in 1951, and Janet in 1955. The focal points of Verna’s life were her two daughters, seven grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.

A funeral will take place on Friday, June 14, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Bezanson Memorial Hall (9901 - 100 Ave, Bezanson, AB).

    Verna was one of the first Bezanson Ladies that I got to know when they threw a Wedding shower for myself and my husband Larry Patterson in 1980. She was such a beautiful person and I love your spirit. Thanks Verna for making me feel like part of Bezanson community all those years ago.     Auntie Verna was a one of a kind lady, beautiful both inside and out. She had a heart of gold and was always there, ready to lend a hand or have tea and a visit.
