Obituary For Victorino C. Ventic
Victorino C. Ventic, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 13, 2018, at his home, at the age of 86 years.
Vic was born on November 2, 1931 in Cebu, Philippines. He arrived in Canada on December 12, 1968 and got married to Felicidad Hermoso on January 4, 1969.
He had various jobs including: electrician, housekeeper at the hospital, landscaper, and owner of his own carpet cleaning service. He was the first president of the Filipino Association of Grande Prairie, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church Choir. Vic loved to golf, garden, fish and sing.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Felicidad Ventic, daughter Juliet Ventic Truong, and grandchildren Andrew and Nicole Truong, nieces and nephews and their families.
He was predeceased by his parents Apolonio and Maria, and siblings: Basilio, Luis, Gaspara, Felicidad, Felipe, and Angel.
Prayers and Viewing will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018, at 7:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).
Mass of Catholic Burial will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at 10:00am, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grande Prairie (10404 102 St.).
Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church (10404 102 St., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 2W3) and/ or Grande Prairie Cancer Centre (C/O Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation) (10409 98 St., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 2E8).
